Your file stays on your device
The numbers are written in this page, using your browser’s own processing. The PDF is not sent to a server, nothing is stored, and there is no account to create. Closing the tab is all the cleanup there is.
How to use it
- Drop in a PDF, or choose one from your device. The tool reads the page count straight away (up to 200 pages, 50 MB).
- Pick a position and a format. The preview line names the file it is about to write and the numbers it will use, before anything is stamped.
- Press Add page numbers and download the new file.
What the numbers look like
They are drawn in Helvetica, the standard font a PDF writer already has. They will not match a document set in another typeface, and this tool does not embed a custom font to pretend otherwise. The four formats — 1, 1 / 12, Page 1, Page 1 of 12 — are Western digits and Latin letters, which Helvetica can always draw.
Bottom centre is the default. The number sits in from the edge far enough to survive a typical print margin. Rotated pages are numbered the way they appear on screen, not against the unrotated media box.
What you get, and what you do not
You get a copy of the same PDF with a number on every page. Existing content is not moved to make room — if a header or footer already fills that corner, the number sits on top of it.
Password-protected PDFs cannot be numbered. A phrase across the page is Watermark PDF. An image stamp is a different job, and this tool does not do it.

Page numbers help a packet stay in order. They do not pull out the supplier, the date or the total. That is the part ExtractToExcel does: you name the columns you want, and each PDF comes back as a row in an Excel workbook.
